FleXion Plate
Gets you where you need to be: up on your toes.
There are a lot of ways to get faster (though getting a Kenyan passport doesn't work ? we tried.) More realistically, you?ll notice the fastest runners are those who move most efficiently from heel to toe. FleXion Plate technology actually facilitates this crucial motion, guiding the foot from heel strike to forefoot using an impact-resistant piece of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This dampens much of the joint and bone movement in the forefoot that is caused by the high-impact forces of heel strike, allowing you to toe off with more force and less energy.
At the International Shoe Summit in New York, Saucony have carried off the award for "International Innovation" for our new FleXion Plate technology which features in the ProGrid Paramount 2, the Grid Getgo and the Grid Sinister.
Presenting the prize, Runners World said "Saucony was honoured with International Best Innovation award, recognizing its noteworthy fleXion plate. Instead of being a stability device, the fleXion plate is a propulsion device that smoothes out heel-to-toe transitions allowing people to run more efficiently."
Tom Carleo, senior vice president of product, said "We are very pleased to have won this award as this technology will be integrated into more projects in the future."
Tom explained "The plate really helps a runner get up on their toes as quickly as possible, minimizing braking in mid-stride and maximizing forward momentum. The plate offers runners not just a smoother run, but also a faster and more efficient stride."
