Saucony's Ashley Harrell gave the run of his life taking 3rd U23 in the UK trials to win selection for the European Cross Country championship team.

Having worked so hard over the last few months and run into a strong vein of form, Ash was always likely to be involved in the push for selection, but to finish third and gain an automatic place was above all expectations.

Ash pipped City of Norwich and St Mary's team-mate Mitch Goose to the line, with both of them finishing well ahead of some more celebrated names.
